   • Does Hawai’i remain on standard time all year?

     • Yep. Hawai’i and most of Arizona are the holdouts. In our case, sunrise and sunset don’t vary much throughout the year. We don’t need an extra hour of daylight.

       • Chile, which stretches from the tropics to sub-Antarctic – equivalent to the distance from Havana to Hudson’s Bay – long had a single time zone. After decades of complaints – the government is very centralized in Santiago – southernmost Chilean Patagonia now has daylight savings all year. I’ve been there during the summer solstice, when there are barely two hours of dark.

         • I’ve not experienced that but my Dad did. He wintered over in Antarctica once and spent a lot of time there through a period of three or four more years before getting transferred from NavSuppForAntarctica to HQ NavFacEngCom in DC. That allowed me to stay at the same high school for all four years, not something most military kids get to do.

   • Bellinger also had two HR.

      • Sometimes you truly amaze me.

        • Merely an empirical observation. Acuña is five years younger and, barring injury or some other misfortune, he’ll be around after Mookie retires. That said, any team would be happy to have either of them.

          • Well, we can revisit this conversation in 2030. Right now, I would rather have Mookie.
