Informed of Senator Portman’s revelation that his son came out to him two years ago and he has now reversed his position on gay marriage, Anil Dash, entrepreneur extraordinaire, tweeted:

Eventually one of these Republican congressmen is going to find out his daughter is a woman, and then we’re all set.

I can’t add anything to that, except that I wonder what took Portman so long, and to wonder why the ability to see others’ point of view only seems to show up when one of these guys is personally affected by that perspective.
