New opinions, now improved!

What’s happened to all those media hawks who beat the drums for the Iraq War ten years ago?

Mostly, they’re still gainfully employed and, most annoyingly to me, still trotted out as though they have credible ideas about foreign policy.

These people got arguably the biggest foreign policy decision the United States has faced in the 21st century wrong and they’ve mostly paid no price for it. They’ve not been shunned by polite company, they’ve still got lucrative jobs, and they’re still in TV bookers’ Rolodexes as reputable opinion-holders.

It makes you think there’s absolutely no fairness in the world.

  1. This seems to be the case with so much doesn’t it? *sigh* “experts” who claimed Iraq had WMDs, “experts” who said there was no housing bubble.. It’s breathtakingly boggling.
It’s like it’s okay to say complete rubbish if you’re some people. And if someone speaks the truth but they’re not the right people, they’re dismissed! It does make one feel a bit disillusioned with the human peoples. Like is this a civilization or what the heck?
