Update: Hmm. Joe Posnanski thinks we shouldn’t be pleased with a tie; rather we should be astonished at the referee’s vision of an invisible foul. It seems odd to be pleased with a tie in a sporting event. Maybe that’s part of the reason Americans “don’t watch soccer.”
