‘Tis the season, or something. Three of our neighbors on our block are doing major construction, but the most interesting one is the fellow whose garage partially collapsed. The incident revealed a major infestation throughout his entire home, and they ended up razing the entire thing. It’s about half rebuilt now.
This looks to be wood rot at the junction of the steps and the deck frame. That railing is 3/4″ iron, and the weight just pulled it away from the deck supports.
Being a grownup and a homeowner is so much FUN, isn’t it? It’s just one (expensive) surprise day after day!
