Brewers at Dodgers, 7:10PM PT, TV: SPNLA
Mike Bolsinger had success early in the season for the Dodgers, but his last five starts have been less than scintillating. He’s gone no further than 5 1/3 innings in any of them and is 0-2 during that stretch. Overall he’s 4-3 with a 3.09 ERA. The Brewers send out Jimmy Nelson, who’s 6-8 with a 4.50 ERA but has also had trouble getting deep into games recently: he hasn’t gotten past the sixth inning in five of his last seven starts.
Lineup:

Kendrick 2B
Turner 3B
Gonzalez 1B

Kershaw came in third in the ASG Final Vote count, so he’s going to sit in LA or go home to Texas for a few days, I imagine.
NPUT
I see Agon had his usual GIDP last night. He must be close to a record by now. No, I’m not slamming him. His slow speed comes with his size and strength, and I’ll take those homers and doubles along with the GIDPs. Just like Joc’s homers are offset by strikeouts.
Indeed, he is at 14 as compared to 13 all of last year. But really nothing new for him. He led the NL in 2006 with 24 and the AL in 2011 with 28. Currently tied for second in the NL However, those with like GIDP numbers have SLG of <.350, whereas he is at .519. Braun, in town, trails with 12, but has a .485 SLG. His OPS in the usual DP situations (runners on 1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-2-3) is mostly healthy, so getting the job done. What seems to be driving his number is 1). More PA with a runner on first (88 so far this year, compared to 114 all of last year) and 2). a higher rate (11% this year and 4% last year) in that situation.
I imagine he is quite sensitive about it, but he needn’t be, his accomplishments far outshine any negatives…
You think more base stealing attempts while he’s at bat would help his numbers there?
They would certainly help his GIDP numbers, but at our poor rate of stealing likely to have a negative effect on scoring runs.
Night all. Happy for the come from behind win. Talk with everyone tomorrow.
Woo-HOO!!!
Yea – you made it in time to give the cheer!
Yabba-dabba doo!
KJ looked smooth tonight.
Nice efficient win (no sense in wasting runs).
We win!
Just watched the reply of SVS’s sliding, sprawling catch. Anyone know what the heck was in his non-glove hand? Something white and circular.
Marshmallow?
Ha! I should add that it was flat. Can’t figure it out.
Here’s the video. It’s flat and round. I thought maybe a mouthguard, but it doesn’t look like one on second perusal. Huh.
What’s he holding in his right hand?
Looks like a woven cotton type thing. Like a oxi cleaning pad or something. A bit of a mystery.
Good inning from Howell. Next up will be Jansen.
Bullpen needs to hold them now.
Oh yeah Joc! I joined the thread just at the right time.
Welcome back it the fight boys!
Mini rally.
Just read through the comments – didn’t take long. 😉
This place is as quiet as the Dodgers offense apparently.
Hey there. Just finished a long night of work.
Looks like the Dodgers are back to the not scoring runs theme.
Is this thing on?
another wild pitch. Ack!
Two on, none out. and a wild pitch.
Is everyone on strike or is the website dead? Three posts, two of them three hours old.
Friday?
Relevance?
The way we are playing today?
Brock. Never did much for the Dodgers, as I recall.
Alex has splits against RH/LH that are surprisingly similar to Dre’s. Maybe trying to get him back on track with a start against a righty.
Ethier only had one at bat last night, didn’t he? I thought maybe he was injured or something…
