- 2012 Bobby Abreu, who was tied with Mickey Mantle for 109th place on the all-time hit list, surpasses the Yankee legend with a second-inning double in L.A.’s 8-2 interleague victory over Seattle at Safeco Field. The 38 year-old outfielder has collected 2,416 hits playing for the Astros, Phillies, Yankees, Angels, and Dodgers.

Paul Casella of MLB has some nice things to say about Bobby Miller’s begiinning of his career.
Miller’s ERA now at 0.78. That’s satisfactory.
Fernando was at 0.25 through his first 4 starts.
Then it went down to 0.20 after his 5th game.
Kenta in 2016 was ERA 0.36 after first 4 starts.
Even in Sweden, a legend.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQsjAbZDx-4
Yes! Struck out Realmuto to end the sixth.
Dodgers on this road trip:
Allowing 0 runs – 2-0.
Allowing more than 0 runs – 0-3.
Dodgers on this road trip:

Did the Dodgers score runs or did the Phils forfeit? 9-0, after all.
Dodgers win!
Woo-HOO!!!
Three inning save alert. Let’s go Jackson.
I went to the Dodgers-Yankees game last Sunday that Miller started and pitched six scoreless innings. I was sitting in the second row reserved between home and first so I had a pretty good view. All his fastballs were about 99 or 100 mph. He reminded me of Drysdale, who was listed at 6-5 and 190. Miller is listed at 6-5 and 220. Drysdale was 19 when he broke in; Miller is 24. I just don’t want Miller throwing too many innings this season compared what he has thrown previously.
Threw 112 last year, so what 150 this year? Has thrown around 37 already so at 6 innings per start he should be good for 18 more starts.
Yes, I hope he doesn’t go more than 150. Conceivably, barring injury, he could have about 18 or 19 more starts. He will inevitably have some starts in which he doesn’t reach the 5th inning. So, if he mostly goes 6 or 7 innings in the others, he would likely be under 150 innings. Of course, the number of pitches is a determining factor. Is he off to the best start by a Dodger rookie pitcher since Fernando in 1981?
Phillies waving the white flag. Kody (son of – but not a pitcher – Roger) Clemens into pitch.
If this Clemens kid pitches like his dad…
He kinda did. 3 outs on 5 pitches.
Kinda embarrassing to be honest.
Obviously, the son is not on the BALCO diet.
I love stats (and making them lie):
Dodgers have out-scored the opposition 33-22 so far on the road trip and only have 1 win so far.
Well I guess Jackson won’t be the starter tomorrow.
Jackson gets the three-inning save.
I wonder who will be. Koufax on 56 years of rest rather than two days?

Pro-duction!!
J.D. hit 16 home runs total in 139 games last year.
Hit his 16th home run in his 49th game this year.
This is better!
Where ya been?
Doing “Dodger yoga.” Can’t text and stretch at the same time!
Good inning.
Peralta close to joining his mates in the .700 Club.
Please refrain from that usage.
Hoffman is struggling a bit here.
Dave can safely bring in me for the three-inning save now.
Oh my!
JD!!! Dinger!!
Slugger slugs!
Mookie scores on the wild pitch.
Let’s go Max. Drive in those 2 runners.

Premiums weren’t too expense apparently. Insurance in hand.
Interesting that up to Mookie’s last at bat – and before Smith’s next one – they both have a .902 OPS.
First 5 Dodger batters have an average OPS of .904. Muncy’s .805 bringing the average down.
Mook!
Drives in CT3 and drives out Nola.
Mookie!
Way to go Bobby!
It looks as if he’s here to stay.
Miller rearing back and throwing 100. Pitches that is.
104 in total.
What’s up?
Had a beef, I guess.
Something about the umps getting on Nola for tossing the balls out of play.
Bom bife?
Great inning of work by Miller. Economical.
Per Alta Tension!
¡Un choque fuerte a Nola!
Peralta has really picked it up lately.
Over on Facebook I remarked that I’d never read the full poem by Emily Dickinson that begins “Hope is the thing with feathers…” Bob Timmermann reminded me that it was a favorite of Vinnie’s and linked to the obituary Bob wrote about Vin for the LA Public Library.
Freddie delivers.
Two-out rally!
Betts cashes James in!
Nice James.
Kid got out of that mess. He might be the real thing.
It’s been a long time since the Dodgers had a cleanup hitter, if ever, batting below .200 this late (40 percent completed) in the season.
Fine first for Miller!
