Donald Trump, Republican Party nominee for President of the United States, threatened the owner of the Washington Post newspaper with retaliation for the paper’s publication of articles critical of Trump.

Aside from the obvious First Amendment protections the press is guaranteed which Mr. Trump seems to know nothing about, there’s also the minor problem that most of the things he accused the paper’s owner of doing while wearing his other hat as chairman of Amazon.com he’s gotten entirely wrong. No one should be surprised that Trump is mistaken about anything; he’s gotten away with being incorrect his entire campaign.
