The unasked question

During the 1:42 this segment lasts, neither Bob Schieffer nor John Miller asked the obvious question: What right did the British security agency have to detain Glenn Greenwald’s partner David Miranda at Heathrow? Is every person in the world now fair game for various national security agencies at any time?

Of course, neither Schieffer nor Miller can be called journalists; Miller’s a former FBI agent and Schieffer’s last real reporting was done during the Harding Administration (hat tip to Charlie Pierce for the timeline). Still, it’s like neither of them ever even thought of it.
