It’s a what-if scenario from Tina Brown’s Princess Diana-worshiping past. She speculates on what Diana and her life would be like if she were still alive; she’d be 50 years old today.

We’re subscribers, so we got the issue, and I found it annoying. It might have been suited for People, but certainly not for a magazine purporting to be a serious newsweekly. I scanned it and thought no more of it. Adrastos at First Draft was more bothered than I and said so.

I’m sure this stunt will cause people to visit the Newsweek web site and even buy a copy of the dead tree version but the story itself reads more like fan fiction than anything else.
