During the National Memorial Day Concert from the Capitol, somebody introduced songs of World War 2.
The first song was Moon River, written by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini for the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” in 1961.
Nobody fact-checks anything anymore.
Given the present administration’s penchant for revisionist history and getting facts wrong, are we surprised that other Washington institutions are getting in on the act?
I kinda woulda thought that of the forty or fifty people involved in putting the show together, somebody would have caught that and said “Wait.”
That’s just sad.
