Today I avoided outrage (by the simple technique of reading no newspapers) and did laundry instead.

But back to the subject of books: Whether you go back to Washington State or not, do not miss the writings of Ivan Doig. I particularly recommend Winter Brothers, but all his books–sited in Washington and Montana–are wonderful.
Hah! I did laundry yesterday, more to do today. But mine is far from folded – it’s a gargantuan, growing pile slowly working it’s way out of my closet. The four year old and I are going to work on it today. . .
