Given the latest IE security glitch, which other browser for Windows has the best features? If I switch, what should I switch to? (If you say Mozilla, remind me to go back to this article for a useful tip about loading Java).
If you’re just used to IE, btw, here’s a nifty tool which allows you to determine what browser “helpers” are currently on your machine.
Firefox rocks. I haven’t tried the 0.9 version but am using the 0.8 version with very very few problems.
Firefox all the way!
Firefox. Sarah and I are both designing for it now…
No discussion: tabbed browsing (excellent for research!), blocked popups…
I’m running it on Win2k and Linux (Firebird on Win95b); it just works.
Grrr. PCMag has hidden BHO Cop behind a subscription-only barrier, but BHO Demon is free, and seems to work just fine.
I hadn’t realized it required a subscription; oops. I went over to the graciously-provided BHO Demon and downloaded ver. 1.0 (479k) and it gave me a list of three perfectly legitimate BHO’s, so I’m safe so far. Nice to know.
Thank you, Christina!
