Goodness!

Imagine you’re a 13-year old girl. You’re an amateur, playing in your 4th LPGA Tour event, which also happens to be the first major of the year. You make the cut playing with the pros for the first time yesterday. So what do you do today?
Why, go out and shoot a six-under 66, good for sole possession of third place, that’s all.
The reason this is notable for me is that her home course is a drive and chip from my house.

  1. The Hawaii sports press has been saying that for two years. She was in the broadcast booth yesterday after her round, and was asked the usual pap:
“Was this the best round you ever shot?”
    She replied, “No, I shot a 64 once when I was 10.”
    The broadcaster was stunned.
