The middle of the Dodgers’ lineup has not yet begun to hit. Hanley Ramirez is hitting .091. Adrian Gonzalez is hitting .111. Andre Ethier is at .167. Anybody worried?
Update: Disappointing news about Kershaw from the pregame show: after an examination by Dr. Neal ElAttrache earlier today, his injury is “more serious” than previously thought. He may not be allowed to pitch for another two or three weeks.
Well, that stinks.
Wednesday Game Thread above.
I’d like to thank Bud Black for saving Nick Hundley (5 Ks in 5 ABs v. Kenley) until it really counted.
Might be a good thing that Kershaw rests a month so he will be strong for end of season.
Need to move Gordon into 3, 4, or 5 spot. Too bad Dee and SVS can’t be in the lineup at same time.
Dodgers.com story up says Kershsaw likely out at least a month, not even to be re-evaluated for 2-3 weeks.
Not to make light of the situation, but come on down, Paul Mahlom.

You can never have too many pitchers
How badly would Bud Black have kicked himself if that 3-0 foul popup had been caught?
Kenley didn’t miss many bats until the K. But it takes a bit of luck.
He got two Ks.
Should have been watching closer but couldn’t. Going too much by the Padre AB where it seemed every swing was making decent contact, I guess.
I fear us spectators have to pace our nerves, it was game 4 out of 162
Good point, John — but easier said than done! 🙂
My mother was getting very nervous and very worried about Kenley. She thought he looked like he’d rather not be out there pitching.
Four games in: shaky bullpen and wasted offensive chances . . . but 3-1!
Phew!
Double Phew. 3 and 1!
K-enley!
Get the K!
Strike out Hundley!
still need (just) 1
Oh those bases on balls!
one more (please)
need another DP
lets close this out!
C’mon, Kenley — 3 up and down!
Now a little Geronimo!
Dr. DP
C’mon, Howell!
C’mon, Adrian!
Figgins reaches base!
One more K,. Zack!
Get the K, Zack!
Oops. There went the no-hitter and the shutout on one swing.
Deelightful! (Monday lauding that at bat).
I don’t get to see the team much, but that may be the best AB from Dee I’ve seen. Nice result too.
He had some good AB in Aus as well
There have been far worse pitches than a couple Greinke has thrown that actually were called strikes. Maybe the ump will settle in.
Anyone here may know already, but this is the MLB freebie for the day.

Hanley needs to stay away from the plate with Kennedy.
Dingo!
We’re not in Australia any more, Hendley.
