NLCS Game Six, 2021

Dodgers at Braves, 5:07 PM PDT, TV: TBS

Max Scherzer reports his arm is still tired, so the Dodgers’ RHP Walker Buehler (postseason 0-1, 3.77 ERA) has stepped up to volunteer to start this elimination game. He’ll be on short rest: he started Game Three on Oct. 19. He’ll face the Braves’ RHP Ian Anderson (postseason 1-0, 2.25 ERA). Anderson has had his full complement of rest days: he last pitched in Game Two on Oct 17.

Today in baseball history Branch Rickey announced the signing of Jackie Robinson and Johnny Wright in 1947, Joe Carter hit a walk-off home run in Game Six of the 1993 World Series to give Toronto its second consecutive title and the Giants won their 21st pennant as Juan Uribe homered in the 8th inning of Game Six of the NLCS in 2010.

  1. As Ron Darling says,”Buehler’s line may not look so good in the morning but serious respect with a capital R.” I agree. He gave it his all.

  2. Houston-Atlanta doesn’t do anything for me. I will wait until pitchers and catchers report to rejoin the baseball life. I wonder which free agents we will sign.

  3. Best to all of you. Disappointing conclusion, but great observations on this site month after month. And to Link: a huge thank you and a clean bill of health.

      • I would get great pleasure out of that. In Milwaukee we wouldn’t have to worry about the weather.

  4. Have a good off season fellow Elysians. I will be watching the World Series with less enthusiasm and enjoy my time away from the TV set now that the Dodgers will be off for a few months.

  5. Overall, a darn good year. But still very disappointing. AFs got alot of work to do and some hard decisions this off season.

  6. Two undeserving franchises advance to the Series, and I’ll not watch a single pitch. See y’all later.

  7. Link. Thank you!! Thank. You.
We all know it has been a very challenging year for you personally and yet you have continued to be our gracious host. We care about you and care for you!

As for me, I’ll try and review the 12 rules of the road and live by them a little more closely next year.

    Go Dodgers.

  8. At moments like this, I always think of the “ending” of Toy Story 3, where all the toys are in the incinerator holding hands…

  9. The saddest part of the night for me so far not being able to be present here tonight. Back from dinner but hosting friends.
