Red Sox at Astros, 5:08 PM PDT, TV: FS1
The visiting Red Sox need to win today to stay alive. They’ll give the ball to RHP Nathan Eovaldi (postseason 2-1, 5.51 ERA) and ask him to keep the Astros down. The Astros ask RHP Luis Garcia (postseason 0-1, 24.55 ERA) to end the Series right now.
Today in baseball history John Updike published his ode to Ted Williams as “The Kid” played his final game at Fenway Park in 1960, in 1975 the Reds beat the Red Sox in a World Series filled with reversals, home runs, and foul balls waved fair, Albert Pujols homered three times in Game Three of the 2011 World Series, and in 2016 the Cubs beat the Dodgers in Game Six of the NLCS to win their first pennant in 71 years.

To attend a game at Dodger Stadium you have to prove your COVID status, but the Barves are contagion-friendly. https://twitter.com/DanWolken/status/1451943315201531912?s=20
NPUT
Any word on who might be replacing Bruihl, if anyone?
Says he could go an inning tonight.

Offense gonna have to step up again.
Walker going to take the mound. Guess he wants to make up for last start, which was on extra rest.
I hope he doesn’t blow out an elbow. Everybody’s running
on fumes at this point.
Already had TJ, so he has a bionic elbow. A determined young man. Hope he keeps his cool, if put under pressure. During regular season he was one of the best in getting out of such situations.
As much as I detest the Astros, I have to feel good for Dusty Baker.
Dusty also worked with the BALCO cheaters in 2002, but they lost to the Angles.
So Houston is in.
Reports of no Scherzer for game 6. We are going to need 11 runs again
Yeah. I was just thinking it is too bad that he didn’t miss his scheduled start yesterday instead! I guess it will be another pen game?
Like I said – it’s Final Destination out there…
Walker wants the ball for game six.
Quique’s first-inning misplay – a difficult chance, in fairness – has put the Sawx done 1-0.
What did he do?
Ball to the wall and it hit the heel of his glove. Alvarez doubled in a run.

Tricky play.
Here’s hoping Eovaldi fulfills his vowels.
