Game 17, 2015

Dodgers at Padres, 5:40PM PT, TV: MLBN, SPNLA, FSSD

Brandon McCarthy goes for the Dodgers. He’s got a 5-1 lifetime record against the Padres and won his last start. McCarthy has averaged 6 innings per start and has given up 18 hits in 18 innings while striking out 25 and walking only 3. His ERA is 4.50 and falling.

His opponent will be Ian Kennedy, who strained a hamstring in his only start this year and just came off the DL.

Lineup when available.

André in right in place of Puig. I guess that hamstring is hurting him pretty badly.

  1. Another 10 k’s by Dodger pitching – and of course lots of non-solo home runs!

  2. Grandal seems to be figuring some things out recently. Another extra base hit for him.

  3. I swear, I can’t tell all these beards apart. This batter looks like at least two of their pitchers.

  4. In the tenth in Denver, Casey McGeehee is picking up the pace with yet another GIDP.

  5. Nicasio’s era is lower than I would have guessed, For some reason I thought he had started this year less effective than that.

  6. I just hope they get this game in and that rain doesn’t wash it away. That would be very frustrating.

  7. The Dodgers have 24 HRs in 16.5 games. That projects to 236 on the season. The record is 249 by the Astros in 2000.

  8. Pitchers park, Petco. Right. Anyone know if there’s a HR increase there this year like there seems to be at DS?

  9. “In play, run (s)” when the Dodgers are batting probably is my favorite thing to see on Gameday.

  10. Rumor: Peralta likely to DL. Supposedly dead arm related to earlier back spasms. Could explain velocity falloff v SF last time out, when Kendrick saved his bacon. Could have to do with Santos’ arrival.

  11. Casey McGeehee of the Gnats is 7-for-43. Translation: that means seven GIDPs. Could be a record-setting pace.
