In light of tonight’s revelation on 60 Minutes that in order to help President Bush the Saudis agreed to cut oil prices before the US election this November, let’s do a survey: 10 days ago I paid $2.09/gallon for regular unleaded. What’s the gas price where you live?
We’ll do another survey six months from now to see if the Saudis kept their word.
I saw $1.99 for regular, and I paid $2.09 for mid-range unleaded; top-shelf was $2.19.
Gas is relatively cheap in Hosuton. Prices range from about $1.60 to $1.70 for regular, and ten cents more each for plus and super.
Central PA, for Regular, Mid-grade and Premium: $1.77, $1.85 and $1.93, respectively. At least at the Texaco station.
$2.14 in Santa Monica, regular. Hey, why are our prices so high?
The best price I have seen here in Alabama in the last couple of days is $1.67 for regular unleaded.
I saw it for $1.73 yesterday. Unfortunately my car takes premium, but the same station was only $1.83
$1.89 in Northern Utah.
$1.82 here in Michigan for unleaded regular.
$1.89 for premium (the motorcycles get the best) on the north shore in massachusetts. didn’t catch the prices of the other grades or at other stations.
$1.75 for regular here on the Mass northshore. Price dropped a few cents a week ago.
When I filled up yesterday, most stations were approximately $2.04/$2.14/$2.24 (regular/mid/premium).
For reasons that are inexplicable to me, Arco is consistently 10-15 cents cheaper than everyone else. However, more than a few people I know have related tales of woe following fill-ups at Arco.
I paid 1.68 for regular on Sunday afternoon, but today I’ve seen 1.82 at the same station. If you don’t mind 7-11 or Racetrak, you can get it for 1.59.
In Oakland, CA, 2.29 (or so) for regular. And it’s even higher in San Francisco. The prices some of the other folks here are mentioning are prices I haven’t seen in five years or more.

Steve, aka Linkmeister, has set up a map cataloguing the various prices for gasoline throughout the US of A. You can get there through here. Interesting stuff. If you feel so inclined and you don’t see your city/region represented, feel…
$1.68 per gallon right here in West Long Branch, New Jersey….home of the worst air around…smells like petrol today…sometimes it smells like napalm…but that’s another story for another time….
