Straight No Chaser was a precursor to Pentatonix: an a cappella group whose YouTube video of “The 12 Days of Christmas” surfaced and was the surprise hit of the 2006 Christmas season. Two years later eight of the original ten guys from their school days at Indiana University reunited and with two other singers from a later version of the group recorded a full album of Christmas songs. They’ve since recorded three more albums.

This song, however, is an ode to the parts of the Christmas season that exhaust many of us.
