An unexpected cover of a wintry tune

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel released “A Hazy Shade of Winter” as a single in 1966; it was subsequently recorded for their “Bookends” album in 1968. It’s got more of a rock flavor than many of Simon’s songs for the duo, but I’d never have imagined The Bangles covering it. They did, though, including it on live sets as early as 1983. They then recorded it for the soundtrack of the film Less Than Zero in 1987.
