She’s got personality

But it has taken a 180-degree turn. Abby the Dog used to sleep on a rug at the foot of Mom’s bed all day long unless we remembered to toss her outside, and then she’d do her thing in the yard and then flop by the windows and sleep until we let her back in. Over the past week or so she’s taken to hanging out under a paper bark tree at the edge of the yard and barking at all the passersby who walk past her quite unwittingly. Now if I want her in I have to call her pretty loudly.

It’s kind of unsettling.

  1. May I suggest a session of dog obedience classes? All dogs do better if they get clear guidelines on what they are expected to do and how they should do it.
We have a neighbor who thinks of he yells commands at his three dogs loud enough that they will do what he tells them. But he’s never taken them to the quarterly dog classes in the park just over in the next street to show them how to do “Sit” or “Down” or trained them how to walk on a leash . We suggested taking the classes several years ago, but he “doesn’t have the time”. I feel so sorry for the confused dogs.
Anyway, some training might just convince Abby to pay attention when you speak to her and to stop barking at the passersby. Good luck.
