The killing fields of Florida

It surprised me that Michael Dunn couldn’t be convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of Jordan Davis. Firing ten shots at and into a car where no weapon was found for the “offense” of playing music Dunn didn’t like would seem like a pretty open-and-shut case to me. I guess we have to hope one or more of the jurors talks to the press to understand the reasoning.

What astonishes me is that this guy got so angry in the first place. When I’m in a convenience store parking lot I don’t expect to be there for more than five or ten minutes. For that long I can’t tolerate some loud music from the car next to me? I’m gonna be back in my car and driving off in minutes!

Michael Dunn deserves the potential 60-year sentence he got. I suspect if his temper is that short he’s gonna have a tough time in prison too.
