When we moved to Honolulu in the ’70s there was so much building going on that there was a running joke in the city that the state bird was the crane. Growth has been stop-and-go since then, but I was up on the 13th floor of Bishop Square downtown today with a great view looking east toward Diamond Head. Looking out that way I counted four big cranes within about six blocks of where I was sitting.
More places needing parking! Oh no!
Maybe those were all for the Pohukaina South block where theyre building those towers. Or the Advertiser building…
