Goodness. Not a good day for that rebranding of the Republican party as one friendly to women. First former Governor Mike Huckabee said

“Democrats want women to think ‘they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government.'”

Then it’s revealed that a Republican Congressman wrote in a new book he’s had published that

“his wife, Cynthia, would submit to him and he would lead.

“The wife is to voluntarily submit, just as the husband is to lovingly lead and sacrifice,” he writes, citing the Bible. “The husband’s part is to show up during the times of deep stress, take the leadership role and be accountable for the outcome, blaming no one else.”

But you certainly shouldn’t assume from these statements and similar recent ones by other Republicans that they don’t care about women’s rights. Perish the thought.

They’ll never learn, thank heaven. It gives Democrats more ammunition every time one of these idiots opens his yap.
