Arthritis, maybe?

15 years ago I severed the patella tendon in my right knee (gory details here). It was reattached to the kneecap with wire, I recovered, and that was the end of it except for some stiffness that I could ignore. I had full range of motion and still do, and it never really hurt much.

In the last couple of day, however, it’s begun to actually give me some pain. Good thing I’ve got an appointment with the primary care doctor tomorrow Monday (thanks, Shelley!).

  1. Sorry to hear you’re experiencing pain, Steve. Do you really have a doctor’s appointment scheduled for a Sunday?

  2. And on Father’s Day, no less. Very impressive. Hope you get some answers, and some tangible relief.

  3. Interesting. I hope it’s easily treatable.

I was told some time ago that the 5th bone in my foot, which I broke about 5 years ago probably has some arthritis kind of thing going on… I’ve never been clear if that’s different than the arthritis people get when they get older in things like hands, or if it’s something different.
Ever since I broke that foot… and I mean within months… I have often gotten some soreness in that spot during periods of rain (like we’ve been having this spring).
It’s actually not too bad though in the winter… when I’ve heard people with arthritis apparently complain.
I know I had a cat years ago with arthritis who seemed really really like it hot & dry! (to the point of liking to sleep right in front of a space heater!)

When I’ve looked the whole arthritis thing up… it’s rather confusing to be honest.
