Atlanta test scandal

I don’t know enough to comment intelligently about the details, but I have a question. Apparently Superintendent Beverly Hall received over half-a-million bucks in bonuses for “improving” the students’ test scores.

Who the hell does the school superintendent think she is, taking in that kind of scratch? A football coach at one of Georgia’s state universities?

  1. My experience – Atlanta is a boiling cauldron of corruption, while the rest of Georgia is blissfully stuck in the 50s.

  2. Yeah well, this is why I suck wind every time someone talks about more money to schools. I don’t object to that, the problem, that I have seen repeatedly, across the nation, is that the “more money” rarely winds up in the school… in the class room… it usually winds up in someone’s pocket.
