Er, Senator, how about Iraq?

Senator Mitch McConnell said this today on the third anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act:

“The biggest mistake in modern times, in my judgment, was the passage of Obamacare, which seeks to turn America into a Western European country.”

Well now, Senator, I accuse you of excessive hyperbole. I also note that you yourself have had government-funded health care since the day you first won election in 1984, yet you begrudge access to it for your fellow Americans.

The passage of a flawed law which tries to give 37 million Americans access to health insurance which they didn’t have before is a bigger mistake than a $1 trillion to $2 trillion war based on lies? Its passage a bigger mistake than your party’s President George W. Bush ignoring the warnings about al Qaeda’s plan to bomb America in 2001? I think not.

Oh, and what the hell is wrong with Western European countries, you xenophobic little twerp?

  1. I like Western European Countries myself. I think we should always try to emulate other countries who seem to have success in something. It only makes sense. For example, many Western European countries have MUCH MUCH lower health care costs. Seems to me that’s a good thing. Don’t know why anyone would think that was a bad thing unless they’re stupid or somehow profiting personally off price gouging on healthcare.
