Christmas decorations 2012

We aren’t even close to being finished decorating, but thanks to my niece and her fiancé (a fact I’m still grappling with) our tree is up and trimmed. Here’s a picture in daylight:

  1. I know buying real trees in Hawaii is a test of endurance – and crazy expensive–do you get real or do you have an artificial one. It’s lovely whichever it is, hard to tell from the picture.

  2. Cyn, it’s a real tree. We buy from a charity called Habilitat, which takes orders in September and then reserves one for your pickup in December. They are indeed expensive, and I occasionally think “let’s get one of these new pre-lit artificial ones,” but then the smell of the real tree hits me and I think better of it.
