Biden on loss

Joe Biden is one of the few politicians who actually understands grief and understands how those suffering it feel, and more importantly than that, knows how to talk to them. You may have heard a clip of this, but here’s the entire 20-minute speech he gave the other day to an event hosted by the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.

  1. Thanks for including the entire speech. I saw excerpts on Rachel Maddow and was moved. Having seen the complete clip, I was even more deeply moved. I do know how he felt. We lost our 24-yr old daughter to a brain stem cancer in 1989. It was the longest year of my life. But he’s right, eventually the time comes when the memory of something brings a smile first. So I also hope with him that the time when that smile comes is sooner than later. It will come.
