I just found a West Bend bread machine for what amounts to half-price from Amazon. It has more than enough menu settings, makes all three sizes of bread I’m likely to make, and has a one-year limited warranty. I’ve used kitchen electrics from West Bend for years; they make a good product. At $47.70 and free shipping it’s too good a deal to pass up, particularly when the regular price at the West Bend website is $89.99.
The only drawback is it won’t get shipped until the week of March 15.
2-3 more weeks without homemade bread? I think you show tremendous restraint!
That’s an amazing price! When I bought a bread maker…I think it was a Zojurishi, I paid almost $300 for it…but that was when bread makers were new on the market. I was never thrilled with the result so when the thing got wrecked by an unhappy infusion of burnt popcorn smoke, I returned to the old way.
The reviews at Amazon are almost uniformly 4s and 5s, too. There are a lot of good brand-name machines under $80 these days.
