Charlie Pierce, advising the Occupy movement to stay away from debates and out of the election:

The tents are the witness.

The tents in the parks, and the public spaces, and the greenways and riverwalks around the country are the witness being born that the Occupy movement — adding “Wall Street” as a general descriptive of what’s going on around the country seems now unreasonably limiting — has passed into a new, and rather more permanent place in our politics.

He may have a point. Bearing silent witness may be more effective than turning yourself into yet another loudmouthed group yelling at politicians. If the movement does that they’re easily blown off by both the pols and the press.
