Coaches need pads

Coaching in the NFL is a difficult and all-consuming job. It’s five to six days of work all week, followed by a three-hour period of intensity and anxiety on Sunday or Monday.

But who the hell expected it to be physically dangerous?

New Orleans coach Sean Payton had surgery to repair a torn meniscus and fractured bone in his left leg on Monday, a day after one of his players was tackled into him on the sideline. And Tampa Bay defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake injured his left knee on the sideline while celebrating Tanard Jackson’s interception during the Buccaneers’ win over Payton’s Saints.
