Man. I went live in WordPress on Thursday, just two days ago. Already I’ve had 46 incidences of comment spam that I know of. I know of them because Akismet, which I installed immediately upon building the blog, gives me a summary on the blog dashboard.

Most of them are the “What a wonderful blog this is. You’ve told me more than I ever knew about this topic!” variety. I guess the idea is to polish the blogger’s ego so much he or she won’t notice that the URL for the comment is to some commercial site.

It doesn’t work, spammers!
