That seems to be the new Republican plan. At least, that’s how I read Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY):
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) says substantial Medicare cuts must be part of a spending and deficit cut package to get his support to raise the debt limit.
He won’t vote to raise the debt ceiling unless the Dems agree to slice Medicare.
Okay, Dems, this is more campaign ad fodder. “The Republicans prefer recession to seniors’ health care.” Of course, that will only work if you refuse to go along with these people, who show their economic ignorance every single day.
