Given the lasting impression of Republicans as the big losers in the last round of government showdowns during the Clinton years, I’ve been wondering if there are any cooler heads in that party who are counseling against forcing another one over the budget cuts they want to enact.
However, they still have to sell it to the Tea Party buffoons in their own party in the House, which may or may not be possible.
Never underestimate the Tea Party’s ability to screw up the plans of sane Republicans. Just look at Michelle Bachmann.
