Poor poor timing

We had to go see the ophthalmologist this afternoon, so we left when the Tigers – Twins game was 3-2 Tigers in the seventh inning. We got back two hours later, just in time to see the Twins win in the twelfth inning.
From what I can tell from the box score and from David Pinto’s live blog over at Baseball Musings, it looks like it got a lot more exciting after we left the house. Rats.
Ah well, tomorrow it’s the Dodgers – Cardinals at 9:37pm Eastern. That’s when I start caring for real.

  1. As crazy as the Padres/Rockies Game 163 was in 2007, that’s how crazy this one was. Not as good as the 4+1 game, but still an impressive piece of trench warfare.

  2. OMG, I just turned it on in the bottom of the 8th to get a score update, not really caring who wins, and I was treated to an amazing 4 innings or so of baseball! If the playoffs are half that great when I give a crap about the teams, I’ll need some heart meds before it’s over.

  3. Get a DVR! 🙂 No need to miss any action because you have to go out. Plus, you can blast through the commercials and hype, putting baseball into a more manageable 2 hours or so.
No, I don’t have stock in either Road Runner of the Dish Network, but I can’t tell you how much my life has improved by recording them and watching them later.
Like today. There are 3 games on and I’m supposed to be at school lecturing students on John Stuart Mill.
