There are 28 other teams in Major League Baseball. Just because your rooting interest is in the NY/New England region is no reason the rest of the country should be expected to be enthralled by a Yankees – Red Sox matchup on television. I mean, yesterday on ESPN, today on Fox, tomorrow on ESPN?
Besides, it’s flipping April, dammit. These games may have bearing, but they’re not nearly as important as the ones between these two teams in September.
Did you not get the memo that Boston is the hub of the universe? It really is tiresome.
Well, had they not televised yesterday’s game we’d only have gotten to see the four consecutive home runs on SportsCenter rather than live, so on balance I suppose it worked out this time.

Sorry boys… but Red Sox-Yankees is the premier rivalry in baseball, if not all of sport.
It is Ohio State-Michigan, Florida-Florida State, Bears-Packers, ‘Bama-Auburn, Arsenal-Tottenham Hotspur, USC-Notre Dame, Hulk Hogan-Andre the Giant, Texas-Texas A&M, Alec Baldwin-Kim Basinger, Raiders-Broncos, NoCal-SoCal, enviros-ranchers, North Korea-South Korea, USA-USSR, Athens-Troy, penicillin-gonorrhea, NASCAR-personal hygiene, and yes even the Dodgers-Giants … all rolled into one.
Complaining about east coast bias won’t change that. Sorry.
