Relieved!

Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers defeated the Mets this evening 3-1 and forced a Game Five to determine the winner of their half of the National League Divisional Series. (The Cubs beat the Cardinals in their game earlier today to win that half.)

Phew! That was a tight game. The Mets only got three hits, but they also got three walks and just wouldn’t go away.

The winner-take-all game will be Thursday in Los Angeles. It’ll be Jacob de Grom for the visiting Mets and Zack Greinke for the Dodgers.

A return engagement with de Grom will be no treat. He gave them five hits in Game One and struck out 13 Dodgers. The Mets will have to cope with Greinke, who gave them only five hits in Game Two and struck out 8.

It should be a good nerve-wracking game.
