An errandy sort of day

First with Mom to Lenscrafters (because they have the widest selection of frames and they’re nearby) to get her some new glasses. That resulted in a forecasted wait of 10 – 14 days and several hundred dollars.

Then off to a jewelry store to see if the clasp on her bracelet could be repaired, since it comes loose all the time. 12 hours later we got a phone call with a $20 estimate. “Fine,” we said. “Go ahead,” we said. “We’ll call when it’s ready,” the store clerk said.

Next we went looking for a sewing/alterations place down by Pearl Harbor to modify and sew a button-and-loop onto a blouse which has a neckline that insists on rolling over rather than laying flat. It took several passes up and down several bays of shops but we eventually found Chic Mode. That repair will take about a week.

Then we came home for lunch, just in time for the dryerful of towels I’d washed earlier to buzz that it was finished. After that I put a second load of clothes into the washer and then I took a nap.

This evening I said to hell with cooking anything and went to Panda Express for takeout.

How’s that for excitement?
