Dodgers at Rockies, 5:40PM PT, TV: SPNLA, ROOTRM
Kenta Maeda (13-7, 3.37 ERA) goes for the Dodgers and Jon Gray (8-6, 4.61 ERA) does likewise for the Rockies. Both rookies have been solid recently: Maeda has given up three runs or fewer in each of his last six starts, and Gray has a 5-1 record at home in twelve starts at Coors.
The Rockies took two of three from the NL East-leading Nationals over the weekend while the Dodgers did the same to the NL Central-leading Cubs.
The Dodgers have reportedly placed Yasiel Puig on revocable waivers, which means he could be claimed but then pulled back by the Dodgers or he could be let go.

In just one game Scoop has seen Reddick get a hit and the Dodgers not get shut out!
Today should be instructive as to our chances in the playoffs (knock on wood) with Hill on the hill and Klayton simulating. (actually, no knock on Wood, other than him being injured).

Change the channel to news and what happens…an 0-2 deficit becomes an 8-1 loss. Not what I hoped the result would be.
With all due respect for Yogi, “X-rays of Seager’s wrist show nothing.”
Get them tomorrow. Night everyone.
Toles wants to score for Scoop so he doesn’t have to witness the Dodgers being shut out.
Nice to see that Rockie rookie get his first hit. Big smile and a doff of the batting helmet.
Nicer to see Toles get his first triple.
Well, you may have a point there.
Using all our lefties tonight out of the pen, better get Avilan on a plane.
Reddick getting leggy.
1 1/2 up seems destined to be our future.
Not feeling the Dodger mojo and magic tonight.
Libby not the same since return from DL.
Needing Metoprolol instead of Lipitor?
Tough night for Seager.
He is going to be bruised tomorrow.
Reporting from Coors Field: I am not going to see the Dodgers get shut out, am I?
We’ll all blame you if it happens, so you better hope not.
Mea culpa.
All good.
Offense has not been that efficient lately . . . enough to win, but not hitting with RISP — or plain not hitting.
So much for my wisecrack yesterday about betting the over.
I thought you were right. We are going to have a big 9th inning.
Big it will have to be!
Well, how is the beer?
There you go Scoop! They scored a run.
How frustrated do you think Reddick is?
Rather, I would guess.
Doc staying with the quick hook approach.
Gray seems to be good at hitting people.
Gray at 95 pitches. Only one more inning for him at most.
Somebody needs to tell Gray if you throw so many pitches in five innings, you give up a load of runs.
That’s so true.
Ugh Hundley.

Now the Coors we know and love.
Sometimes when I’m watching the games on TV I enjoy watching the fans sitting behind home plate. Tonight there is an older lady with a polka dot top and purple scarf. She seems to be having a very animated discussion with the person sitting beside her. I wonder what they are talking about.
Pitch count?
Ha! That would be great. My guess was her bridge hand from Saturday nights bridge game.
Saw Arenado make two errors in a game in DC on relatively easy plays. It happens.
This game is very un-Coors like.
See Nomo, Hideo.
Yes, but his strategy was, if they do not get a hit, they cannot score. This game is a little less interesting than his.
Especially now.
It would be nice to capitalize on future Dodger Arenando’s mishandling of Segedin’s hit.
But… Still no score.
Reddick got a hit just above the shortstop’s glove.
A Reddick hit! For Scoop’s benefit.
I guess the rain has slowed down or stopped.
Not this time for Agon
It appears Scoop may be getting wet. Hopefully it does not dampen his enthusiasm.
Scoop is getting a little bit of water.
Great minds think alike.
Phew. I am off to my writers’ group. Go Blue. Go Linkmeisters!!
When the swelling from the novocaine from the temp crown placement goes down I will Go Go Go!
Howie made a “bunt lineout” according to Gameday.
What was Kendrick thinking? Bunting at Coors?
Puig being waived is only news because it be him. Just about all players are placed on waivers at this point.
I could envision a Puig for Braun deal, since I believe Braun has cleared waivers. Not necessarily advocating that, though.
Braun signed until 2021. Hard to acquire a 32 year old with five more years on his contract and $91 million to be paid. But he is good (now).
This is a good opportunity to gain a bit of ground without having to watch the scoreboard.
Possible rain delay at Coors Field.
Here it is…
