Game 103, 2021

Dodgers at Giants, 6:45 PM PDT, TV: NBCS BA, SPNLA

RHP Walker Buehler (10-1, 2.31 ERA) goes for the visiting Dodgers and RHP Anthony DeSclafani (10-4, 2.87 ERA) does the same for the Giants.

Today in Dodgers’ history:

  • 1991 Expos right-hander Dennis Martinez pitches a perfect game, defeating Los Angeles 2-0 at Dodger Stadium. Ron Hassey becomes the first backstop to ever catch two perfect games, as he also was behind the plate on May 15, 1981 when Indian hurler Len Barker faced 27 batters, beating the Blue Jays, 3-0.
  • 2017 Alex Wood won his twelfth game against just one loss, going seven innings while giving up eight hits and four runs to the Giants. The Dodgers came from behind with four runs in the seventh and won 6-4.

Lineup when available.

  1. Dodgers win!

Now please don’t lose by 1 run tomorrow. Actually maybe just don’t lose at all.

  2. Any thoughts on who the Dodgers pick up at the deadline? I hope they get one starter, a reliever or two, and another bench piece.

      • that would be good. 1 starter, 1 reliever and when Betts and Seager return, we should be ok for position players

      • They had better be. There are other possible pitchers but there is definitely room for another Max on the team.

  3. Buehler is definitely the Dodger starter I feel most confident in/comfortable with this season.

  4. Pollock is in the groove. He should share some of his hits with Belli.
Or store them up for Oct.

  5. Buehler certainly back in the 7th. If he is really economical maybe make into the 8th as well.

  6. Having your starting pitcher bat first two innings in a row is certainly more good news than bad.

    • 40 plus pitches more than Buehler (but has gotten 2 more outs than Buehler).

  7. Tough way to lose a game. The error was bad but the offense was horrific.

Per LA Times, the Dodgers “have committed 63 errors on the season, third-most in the league, have allowed a major league-high 57 unearned runs, are 13-18 in one-run games and 1-10 in extra innings.”
