Sometimes I just poke around to see what’s being discussed in the “Talk” sections of the marvelous tool that is Library Thing. I was doing that after lunch today and found reviews (125 reviews of a book! Most books have 1-5, max!) of The Time Traveler’s Wife. After reading many of the reviews (click the link at the top of the page to see them yourself), I have two questions: how come I’ve never heard of it, and how fast can I get a copy?
I can resist no longer. I’m getting into this LibraryThing. Indeed, “read more” is high up on my list of resolutions for 2007.
Be forewarned, Ryan. It’s addictive (there’s a whole thread in the Talk section entitled “how do you know you’re addicted to LT?”) and it’s a lot of work if you’re possessed of a lot of books, although they sell Cuecats which read barcodes off the books directly into the system.
What a fantastic book! I got a copy at my local library.
Now I’m off to check out the link you posted.
Happy New Year
Thanks, linkmeister, for LibraryThing! I’ve already set up an account. But to list all my books I’ll certainly need a paid account – I have over 200 trash Regency romance novels…
I haven’t checked out that site yet, but my mom lent me that book a few months ago (while she had it out on loan from one of *her* friends), and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I hadn’t heard of it either, but after I got my hands on it, the mentions really started adding up. I hope you read and enjoy it.
