For all the snowy sufferers on the Mainland

Here’s Slim Whitman singing “White Christmas” from his 1980 album “Christmas with Slim Whitman”.

Whitman’s career lasted from the late 1940s to the mid-1990s. He toured almost continuously through the 1990s and he released his last album in 2010 at the age of 87. He was more famous in the UK than in his home country, but he had several bursts of fame in the US, first through direct television marketing in the 1980s and again when his music was featured in films like “Mars Attacks!” The 1996 film features Whitman’s rendition of “Indian Love Call” as a weapon against alien invaders.
