Nationals at Astros, 5:07 PM PDT, TV: Fox
The Nats have stolen one game in the Astros’ park and snapped Gerrit Cole’s 19-game winning streak in the process. Tonight they’ll send out Stephen Strasburg to face Houston’s number 1A ace Justin Verlander and try to steal another.
Conventional wisdom be damned, says MLB’s Will Leitch. Tonight’s game is not a “must-win” for the Astros.

Out of the blue a buddy of mine called to give me a tix to tonight’s game!
So pleased you will be there!
Happy for you but envious as well. I’ve never seen a postseason game of any sort in person.
His attempting to throw out the first pitch might be high comedy. https://twitter.com/xcrabble/status/1187484024450813953?s=20
Speaking of first pitches, did y’all see Simone Biles’ version?

He seems worried he can’t match Simone. https://twitter.com/GLSCHWALL/status/1187498832201957376?s=20
Doral strikes again (so to speak)? https://twitter.com/stevenportnoy/status/1187485556458045446?s=20
Indeed, it will be local nemesis Jose Andres. https://twitter.com/GrantBrisbee/status/1187754718686146561?s=20
Given his lack of popularity in the DVM, he is more likely to be thrown out by the fans, rather him throwing out the first pitch.
I’m guessing he finds an excuse to stay away.

The Minute Maids’ front office still has a ways to go. https://twitter.com/Travis_Sawchik/status/1187515847948034050?s=20
So, Verlander threw a batted ball off his own shin yesterday, which elicited this:

The Minute Maids have made a first tentative step toward redemption. Could Osuna be next? https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/1187467312171016193?s=20
Taubman is out – fired.
Interesting note on an off-day. https://twitter.com/adburgosjr/status/1187397703711498240?s=20

As Bob pointed out below!!!!
So far, the only post season team to beat the Nats is ours.
2-0 going back to Washington. Just not the team I thought would be up 2-0.
Old friend alert.
Jeez, the last team to beat the Nats was the Dodgers, like more than two weeks ago.
They are 18-2 since Sept 23.
10-2. Astros are not completely finished in this series but they are pretty cooked tonight.
Of course, at this point with the Nationals taking care of the Astros so easily, I can’t help but wish that the Dodgers has done this 2 years ago. Or this year.
Another non-winning start for Verlander in the World Series.
First baseball I have watched since the 10th inning of Game 5 the NLDS.
Wasn’t 100% sure who I would be (tepidly) rooting for but took me about half an inning to realize the answer.
I just can’t cheer for Houston.
It would be the same as rooting for Calgary Ted Cruz.
Both pitchers are doing the “Full Kershaw” which is not a good thing.
Settled down after the first though.
