4. The Dodgers have traded Brian Hudson to the Brewers for an 18-year-old prospect.

   Left-handed pitcher Justin Chambers and either a player to be named later or cash are being sent back to the Dodgers as part of the deal. The 18-year-old Chambers was the Brewers’ 20th round pick in last summer’s MLB Draft.

9. I don’t recall whether any of you folks are baseball history fans, but some might be interested in this ranking of the best baseball books of 2023.

   Joe Posnanski’s “50 Moments” book leads the list, and our own Joe Kelly gets high praise for his entry.
