Fairly easy to cheer for the O’s, whose only apparent shortcoming is that they tie with the Gnats for baseball’s ugliest colors. The Trashtros are loathsome, of course, but one of their most loathsome players is now a Twinkie.
I’ve always (well, after 1966) felt warmly toward the Orioles, I don’t know why.
1966 was a huge disappointment, but they’ve often had some admirable players – Palmer, the Robinson brothers, Eddie Murray, etc.
