Hyun-Jin Ryu goes for the Dodgers against old acquaintance Eric Stults. Ryu has an 8-3 record with a 3.18 ERA this season. Past history with the Padres? He’s 1-0 with a 0.68 ERA in two career starts. Stults has had a miserable year so far: he’s 2-9 with a 5.76 ERA, and he’s given up 15 dingers in 75 innings.
#Dodgers lineup at San Diego:

Dodgers can probably count on Romo, but they still need to improve the ‘pen – preferably by jettisoning Maholm and Pérez.
Romo? Vicente Romo? He did end his career with the Dodgers, but it was back in 1982. He’s 71 years old now. 🙂
Sergio, who’s gotten off cheap the last two nights.
On to Kansas City. May the Dodgers keep on rolling, and the Royals stay cooled off. (But I’m not counting on it… no expectations!)
good to see Kenley was back to his meanest
A good day. The Dodgers win (as do the Giants, unfortunately) and Michelle Wie won her first major tournament, winning the Women’s US Open by two strokes.
Interesting — was it something Honeycutt found . . . or with no room for error (or walks), Kenley was tougher?
Either way, let’s hope he repeats it with each appearance!
KKK-enley!!!
Just checking in.
Sad to see the offense has regressed, but hopefully Kenley can step up again . . . no wriggle room!
Nice start, KJ!
Romak is a nice story, making it to the majors after all those years in the minors, but I don’t think he should be on this team.
He belongs in ABQ, presumably when Uribe returns.
Yes, although that would leave us with only four outfielders until Crawford returns.
Unfortunately, Ryu has already thrown 94 pitches through 6 innings.
Once again, Dodger starter has little room for error.
Given how our bullpen has fared in the last two games — 5 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings — I’d like a few more runs.
Padres fired their GM before the start of the game today: Josh Byrnes.

What is this, hockey? GMs aren’t usually fired mid-season, managers are.
Yes, that is unusual for baseball.
Well, there went Ryu’s no-no. But not his shutout. ;-])
SVS is hitting .308 vs. lefties this season.
Gnats get a hit, but Bolsinger has still faced minimum on 45 pitches through four.
Gnats have made gnine straight outs in Phoenix.
Old Friend Stults entered the game with an ERA of 5.76, the highest in the league among those who have enough innings pitched to this point to be in line for the ERA crown.
Probably safe to say he’s not a front-runner for the award.
Also a reflection of the state of pitching for the Padres, who keep sending him out there.
In his case, maybe the ERA dunce cap?
Awful AB by Kemp v. Stults.
Matt and lefties don’t mix.
