With friends like these . . .

The Susan G. Komen Foundation has announced it will no longer fund Planned Parenthood. Why? Because of a new policy it’s adopted which says it won’t fund any organization which is currently under Congressional investigation.

I don’t know what that sounds like to you, but to me it sounds like a targeted guideline meant specifically to allow Planned Parenthood to be defunded, thus keeping the Komen Foundation out of Congress’s sights. I say that because of this little item buried in a WaPo article about its action:

It [the Foundation] also hired a vice president last year who had previously advocated for the group’s [Planned Parenthood’s] defunding in her run for Georgia governor.

That looks suspicious to me.

You?

  1. Not too long ago the bishop of Scranton cancelled a charity basketball game to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation because of the foundation’s financial support of Planned Parenthood. So maybe this is also an attempt to open themselves up to the phat Catholic dough again…though I doubt there will be any forthcoming.
