R. I. P., Mr. Carson

I remember watching Johnny Carson on an old black and white portable television set with the volume turned way down low back in the 1960s. He expanded on the standard which had been set by Jack Paar and Steve Allen. I personally don’t think any of the current crop can hold a candle to the man.

When he got to the pearly gates, one of the archangels probably shouted out “H-e-e-e-re’s Johnny!” Hopefully someone like Bunny Berigan or Glenn Miller struck up the band.

  1. Carson’s show was sexist, and I have seen the tomahawk throwing episode a little too much…
Them’s were swinging guys, with the cigarettes, drinks and big chested women… Hic..
